Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Novell Join Forces to Provide PRIMECLUSTER High Availability for Novell's Nterprise Linux Services

16 December 2003

Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Novell today announced that the cluster product suite PRIMECLUSTER™ from Fujitsu Siemens Computers and the Fujitsu Group of companies has been successfully tested and customized for the soon-to-be-released Novell® Nterprise™ Linux Services and is available for mission-critical business solutions.

PRIMECLUSTER has a proven track record with thousands of installations for application availability, increased uptime, load balancing and service scalability in mission-critical environments. PRIMECLUSTER from Fujitsu Siemens Computers provides enterprise high availability and scalability to users of Nterprise Linux Services, with initial solutions running on SUSE* LINUX Enterprise Server and Red Hat* Enterprise Linux distributions.

High-availability solutions can be quickly integrated and deployed in business-critical computing environments with Intel*-based servers running Linux, including PRIMERGY® servers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers and the Fujitsu Group of companies or Intel-based servers from other vendors. Novell recommends PRIMECLUSTER to customers needing an enterprise-ready, highly available and scalable solution for Nterprise Linux Services. Novell and Fujitsu Siemens Computers have partnered on several initiatives over the years, and this most recent effort includes joint training for sales forces and channel partners, including resellers and solutions integrators such as Fujitsu Services and Siemens Business Services.

Novell Nterprise Linux Services delivers file, print, messaging, directory and management services in an integrated package that runs and is supported on Linux. Nterprise Linux Services is a suite of enterprise-ready software that allows organizations to economically replace Windows* servers and extend traditional NetWare® services to the Linux platform, while keeping the security, reliability and functionality Novell products are known for. Novell is eliminating the barriers to the cost-effective adoption of Linux in the enterprise.
