Novell’s Bob Flynn Promoted to Attachmate Group President and Kathleen Owens Takes Over as President and General Manager of Novell

Novell today announced that president and general manager, Bob Flynn, has been promoted to president of The Attachmate Group, where he will oversee a number of customer-facing organizations that support the four Attachmate Group brands: Attachmate, NetIQ, Novell and SUSE. In Flynn's new role he will focus on enhancing the customer experience on behalf of The Attachmate Group. Flynn will work side by side with Kathleen Owens, Novell's newly appointed president and general manager and her peers Jay Gardner, president and general manager of NetIQ and Nils Brauckmann, president and general manager of SUSE.

Owens brings more than 15 years of leadership and organizational success in the IT industry to Novell and will oversee product development, management and marketing, technical support, sales and sales operations. Prior to assuming her duties as president and general manager of Novell, Owens has served as president and general manager for the Attachmate Corporation since 2012. Owens will continue in this function serving both the Attachmate and Novell businesses. Previously, Owens served as vice president of sales for Attachmate North America, in charge of the direct sales force, field technical resources and sales channel partner relationships.

With Bob Flynn's promotion to president of The Attachmate Group, he becomes responsible for enhancing the customer experience and leading the global territories of Latin America and Asia Pacific across all four of The Attachmate Group brands. Reporting to Flynn will be customer-facing divisions including strategic sales teams, channel partners and global services. Prior to Flynn's role as president and general manager of Novell, he served as president and general manager of Attachmate Corporation. Previously, Flynn was a 17-year veteran at IBM in numerous management and executive positions, specializing in service and support for large enterprise environments.
