Secure Solution Enables Leveraging of Existing Investments in Active Directory to Better Manage Linux Resources
SUNNYVALE, CA – Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO; NYSE: MFGP) today announced the release of Micro Focus AD Bridge 1.0, offering the ability for IT administrators to leverage existing investments in Active Directory (AD) to better manage and secure their Linux resources. The new solution offers numerous benefits, such as extending privileges, delegation, and policy management tools to improve overall ROI for any organization utilizing AD.
"Due to the complexity and hybrid nature of today’s environments, our customers want a way to manage and secure their entire environment—whether it is Windows or Linux, on-premises or in the cloud—from a centralized location, without having to duplicate identities and access controls or invest in additional tools and security vendors," said Tim Sedlack, Director of Product Management at Micro Focus. "Most customers have already invested huge amounts of resources into AD and our new solution helps them leverage that investment though Micro Focus AD Bridge."
The top challenges for administrators of AD are directly aligned with privileged identity security, policy, and compliance. Driving the capabilities of Micro Focus AD to Linux as well as to other systems ensures policies are enforced consistently, reduces the risk of failing an audit due to a more complete auditing and reporting structure, and streamlines management for IT professionals.
Micro Focus AD Bridge joins the growing portfolio of Identity and Access Management solutions offered by Micro Focus and provides a unique breadth of capabilities in three key areas:
The 1.0 version of Micro Focus AD Bridge is now available to customers worldwide for trial or purchase. It is licensed on a per management endpoint with Micro Focus Privileged Account Manager or per management identity with Micro Focus Directory and Resource Administrator. Both new and existing customers can realize tremendous value when leveraging this new solution in conjunction with other Micro Focus security solutions.
The next version of Micro Focus AD Bridge is set to be released this summer and will further enable customers to extend AD authentication and authorization to non-Windows resources such as UNIX and cloud resources such as SaaS, containers, and virtual machines.
