Installing the Eclipse Plugins

To install the Eclipse plugins, perform the following steps:

  1. Start Eclipse (version 3.7.2 or higher).
    Note: You mush have Mylyn installed on Eclipse before you install the Search Assistant or the Code Search View plugins.
  2. Click Help > Install New Software.

    This opens the Install dialog box.

  3. Click Add next to the Work with list.

    This opens the Add Repository dialog box.

  4. Click Archive and browse to the EAIntegration.repository.zip file in the Bin folder of the install location.
  5. In the Name field, type a meaningful name, for example, EAInstall
  6. Click Add.
  7. Check Enterprise Analyzer Access and then click Next.
  8. Make sure Enterprise Analyzer Access appears in the list of items to be installed and click Next.
  9. Read the license text and click I accept the terms of the license agreement.
  10. Click Finish and when prompted, restart Eclipse.
  11. You may not see the plugins in your perspective automatically. If this is the case, go to Window > Show View > Other.
  12. Under Micro Focus, select Clipper View and click Open.
  13. Do the same for the Search Assistant plugin.
  14. They appear as tabbed views in the bottom right part of the IDE.
Note: The Search Assistant plugin requires a connection to an Enterprise Analyzer workspace. Follow these steps to set up a workspace for use with the Search Assistant plugin.
  1. Open Enterprise Analyzer Administration and select Configure Web Service from the Administer menu.
  2. Click Add, select your workspace .rwp file and click Open. The workspace that is checked as the default will be the workspace that is used with the Search Assistant plugin.
  3. Click Save. The Search Assistant plugin will now perform the searches and queries for the assigned workspace.
