Calculating Lines of Code

By default, the lines of code in modules are not calculated when the module is registered in the workspace. The lines of code for a module is calculated when a source module is verified.

Note: Some files are not verified as separate items, for example, control cards or copybooks, so their line count is not calculated. In these instances, you can use Calculate LOC to calculate their lines of code.

In Enterprise Analyzer Administration, use the tool Calculate LOC to calculate the lines of code for unverified source modules. The count will then be displayed in the properties of the source module and will be used by the inventory report when it calculates the lines of code for different source types, projects, and the workspace total.

To calculate the lines of code:

  1. Open Enterprise Analyzer Administration.
  2. Click Tools > Calculate LOC.

This opens the Select workspace dialog box.

  3. Click the project you require.
  4. Click OK.
  5. A dialog will be displayed with the following message:
    LOC Calculation task submitted.
  6. Click OK.

View a file's properties and click the Statistic tab to see its number of source lines.
