Customizing the Search Assistant

You can customize the Search Assistant to suit your needs by setting some options in the Workspace Options and User Preferences that you can access from the Options menu.

Setting Search Assistant options in the Workspace Options

There are two options that you can set, click Options > Workspace Options. This opens the Options - Workspace dialog box. Click the Search Assistant tab:

Maximum number of results: Specify the maximum number of results to display. The default is value is 10,000.
Timeout (in seconds) to display complete set of results: Timeout for displaying a complete set of results. It is configured in seconds and the default value is 60 seconds.

Setting Search Assistant options in the User Preferences

Click Options > User Preferences . This opens the Options - User preferences dialog box. Click the Search Assistant tab, you can set the following options:

Select the type of objects that will be shown in the search results

Select the type of the objects that will be displayed in the search results. The available types are:

All legacy
System program
Program Entry Point
Data Store
Table
Transaction
ADABAS File
Jobstream
Jobstream Step

Include Hypercode (HC) objects

Depending on the source type, you can select different types of hypercode entities. The table below displays the available source code types and their corresponding hypercode objects:

By default, declaration is selected for COBOL, Natural and PL/I files.
