To enable 8dot3 names

Restriction: This topic applies only when the AppMaster Builder AddPack has been installed, and applies only to Windows platforms.
To determine whether 8dot3names is enabled or not
  1. Open a command prompt.
  2. Change to the drive where Enterprise Developer is installed.
  3. Navigate to your primary AppMaster Builder directory.
  4. Run dir /x. When the 8dot3names are enabled, the long-named directories show a second name. For example, cmdgenxml shows CMDGEN~1 and mainframe shows MAINFR~1.
  5. If also using Distributed Generation Server, change to its primary directory and run dir /x there as well.
To enable 8dot3names
In the directory where you want to enable 8dot3names, run fsutil 8dot3names set.
