Prior to opening, you must have configured connection details to a Fileshare server; see
To configure a Fileshare server for an enterprise server.
-
In Server Explorer, right-click the JES-enabled enterprise server, and select
Show Catalog.
The
Catalog:<ES-name> tab is displayed.
-
Double-click the catalog item to view.
The
<catalog-item> tab is displayed.
-
If the
Physical File field indicates a full path on disk, substitute the path with the name of the required Fileshare server (for example:
C:\path\to\dat-file becomes
$$FSserver\dat-file), and then click
Save changes.
Note: The Fileshare server must be running in the same location as the physical cataloged file.
-
Click
(Open catalog files...).
The
Enter Fileshare Details dialog box is displayed.
-
In the
Fileshare name field, enter the name of the Fileshare server, and then click
OK.
The
Open Data File dialog box, showing the
Fileshare tab, is displayed.
-
Open, edit/view, and save the file accordingly.
When opening the file, if a new connection is required in the Data Explorer, it is created automatically. This connection
will be used for subsequent edits/views, unless you delete it.
