Java and OO COBOL Interoperability

Use this section to help code you applications that contain a mix of OO COBOL programs and Java programs. It covers details of how to get the two languages to interoperate with one another.

The following terminology is used in this section to indicate the syntax of the COBOL language:

• Procedural COBOL - regular native COBOL without any of the Micro Focus OO syntax extensions or the OO syntax for the JVM.
• Native OO COBOL - native COBOL which uses the Micro Focus OO syntax extensions. This is different to the OO syntax for the JVM.
• JVM COBOL - COBOL with extensions to support the OO in the JVM.
