Execute a Single Code Search

Note: This functionality is only available if you are connected to a Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer repository.

The available code searches are provided by Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer. In order to get access to them, your IDE must be connected to an Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer repository that has a workspace for the application you want to analyze. In your IDE, you have a subset of the application files that you might be editing, and you might need to perform various analysis on them in the context of all application source code.

To select and execute a single code search:

  1. Right-click a workspace, or a file in the Analysis Server Explorer window.
  2. Click Execute a Single Code Search.

This opens the Code Search in workspace-name dialog box which lists the reports available from Enterprise Analyzer or COBOL Analyzer.

  3. Set the Source type to the type of file you want to search.
  4. In the Code Search Selection pane, search for or navigate to the code search type, and then select the specific search you want to run against your sources.

Optionally, use the Search field to find a query.

  5. Click OK.

This opens the Analysis Code Search window displaying any relevant results.
