Deploy the COMMWS Service Interface

Walks you through the process of starting the CICSCA enterprise server region, and deploying the COMMWS service interface to as a Web service.

The deployment process generates and compiles a COBOL program that is installed in the associated enterprise server region.

Start the CICSCA enterprise server region

On the Server Explorer in Visual Studio, expand Micro Focus Servers > Default to show a list of available enterprise servers.
Right-click CICSCA, and then select Start from the context menu.
Note: If this is the first time you have started the server, you see a sign-on dialog box. If Server is secured is checked, uncheck it; then click OK. Unchecking Server is secured prevents this dialog box from showing when you subsequently start the region. If Server is secured is not checked, simply click OK to clear the dialog box. Also, if prompted to disable password recovery, click No.

Deploy the COMMWS service interface to CICSCA

On the Solution Explorer, right-click the COMMWS service interface, and then select Deploy from the context menu.
The Output window shows the progression of the deployment process. If deployment is successful, you should see a message indicating success.

Note: If deployment were to fail, a message containing a URL to the deployment log file appears in the output window. You can type the address into a browser and view the log file from there.
