Data Tools uses a REST-based file service API to access, move, and edit data files located on remote servers.
The file service API supports the following functions when using the command line:
- Request file information from local and remote data servers
- Create new files with specific parameters
- Edit data files
Restriction: The file service is only available on Windows and AIX platforms.
