Deploying Stored Procedures

You can deploy an application that runs COBOL DB2 or SQL Server Stored Procedures, or PL/I DB2 Stored Procedures

If your application executes COBOL DB2 and SQL Server Stored Procedures, and PL/I Stored Procedures, their execution is done on the same machine as your database instance. In Enterprise Server version 8.0 and earlier, when the database server machine was remote to the installation of Enterprise Server, successful execution of stored procedures required that you install the full Enterprise Server product on the database server machine. Starting with version 9.0, you can install the Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures product on your remote server instead of the full Enterprise Server product. ESSP is a scaled-back version of Enterprise Server consisting of the Micro Focus run-time only components required to execute stored procedures on the database server machine. For details about installing Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures, see Micro Focus Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures 9.0 Release Notes.
