Set Enterprise Server Preferences

Before you can debug within Eclipse, the dynamic debugging feature must be enabled within an enterprise server region. Dynamic debugging is enabled already in the JCLDEMO enterprise server region because it was enabled by the template you used to create JCLDEMO. However, as an alternative to enabling dynamic debugging for each individual enterprise server, you can also set the Enterprise Server preferences in Eclipse to automatically enable dynamic debugging for all enterprise server regions as each starts, regardless of the setting on each individual server. In addition, you can set preferences to automatically start the associated enterprise server region when an application is run, and to stop all started enterprise server regions when you exit Eclipse.

To do this:

1. In Eclipse, click Window > Preferences, and then on the Preferences dialog box, select Micro Focus > Enterprise Server.
2. Set the following options to Always, then click Apply and Close:
   • Automatically start the associated server
   • Automatically stop servers started by Eclipse when closing Eclipse
   • Automatically enable dynamic debugging
