To start Enterprise Developer as an administrator

Depending on the files you create or edit using Enterprise Developer, you might need to start Enterprise Developer as an administrator. To do this:

Windows 7 and Earlier

1. From your Windows desktop, click Start, right-click Visual Studio 2017; then select Run as administrator from the context menu.
2. If prompted, click Yes.

Windows 8.1

1. From the Windows Start screen, right-click the Visual Studio 2017 tile.
2. On the bottom of the page, click Run as administrator.
3. If prompted, click Yes.

Windows 10 and Later

1. From your Windows desktop, click Start and right-click Visual Studio 2017.
2. On the context menu, click More > Run as administrator.
