The listener resides on a 3270 channel machine. A listener is configured with a port and a region, and can communicate with
the configured region only. When logging on to a 3270 machine, the listener forwards information to the dispatcher to establish
contact with the configured region.
The listener listens for input from both the 3270 channel machine, and the SEP to which it is connected. It also:
- Forwards input from the 3270 machine to the region for processing.
- Displays the data that it receives from the region, for example status data and prompts.
