Scale Out Example

The scale out example in this section relates to a configuration set up as shown in the following graphic:

Implementing a scale out installation involves the following stages. Each of these stages is explained in detail in subsequent topics:

  1. Set up each machine to be used.
  2. Install Enterprise Server for .NET on each machine in the cluster.
  3. On each machine in the cluster, configure access to the database server.
  4. On each machine in the cluster, configure the firewall.
  5. Test each machine to ensure that it can connect to the region database.
  6. Set up network load balancing for the cluster, and verify that the cluster operates.
