The Resource Editor lets you copy and paste either from the Resource File Editor's
Edit menu or by right-clicking an item.
You can copy and paste all items in a resource definition file. When you paste an item, you can choose to paste it with the
same name as the original file, or you can paste it with a new name.
Tip:
Where allowed, you can allocate a hexadecimal name to a pasted item.
- To copy an item, right-click it and choose
Copy.
- To copy multiple items, hold down the
Control key and select each, then right-click and choose
Copy.
To paste items, access the target area, right click and choose
Paste. The
Paste items dialog box appears. You can use this dialog box to edit the items to be pasted.
When pasting items:
- Use the check boxes to select and clear items to be pasted.
- Select an item's name to edit it.
- To enter a name in hexadecimal format, prefix the hexadecimal number with
0X. For example, the name
0XFD allocates the hexadecimal number
FD as the item name.
- The
OK button is not enabled until you resolve all conflicts shown in the dialog box.
