Configuration Requirements

The amount of configuration required depends on the features that you employ from the Micro Focus Native Database File Handler and Enterprise Server Region Database Management.

Following the instructions in the sections indicated that match your requirements:

If you plan to store data files within one of the supported databases, refer to the Configuring Datastores... topic in the relevant section for your database provider.
If you plan to use a CICS application that uses data files stored within a database, refer to Configuring CICS Applications for Native Database File Handling.
If you plan to use a JCL application that uses data files stored within a database, refer to Configuring the JCL Environment for Native Database File Handling.
If you plan to use the database to handle your application's resource locking, refer to Configuring Region and Cross-Region Databases... topic in the relevant section for your database provider.
Note: If an enterprise server region is running as part of a Performance and Availability Cluster (PAC), resource locking must be managed in a database.
