Deploying to Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures

Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures (ESSP) is a scaled-back version of Enterprise Server consisting of the Micro Focus run-time only components required to execute COBOL SQL Server stored procedures. ESSP streamlines stored procedure execution by providing exactly what you need to get the job done without having to implement the full Enterprise Server product. ESSP maximizes performance as well because it runs remotely on the same machine that hosts your database.

You can execute SQL Server stored procedures on ESSP running on a Windows platform. Platform specifications are the same as those for the full Enterprise Server product. See the Availability table under OpenESQL in the Database Management Systems (DBMSs) topic for details.

To install Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures, follow the instructions provided in Micro Focus Enterprise Server for Stored Procedures 9.0 Release Notes.
