Folder tree pane

The folder tree pane lets you view workspace or workbook content for file system, SharePoint, OneDrive, or Extended ECM sources from the context of the original folder structure of datasets associated with the source. To view the folder tree pane, click folder tree icon in the action menu.

NOTE: The folder tree pane and icon are not present when viewing content from the context of a structured data workspace.

When using the folder tree pane, consider the following.

  • The top level folder represents the configured source associated for datasets associated with the workspace or workbook.

  • When you click a source name, the content list displays all data items within all datasets associated with the source.

Expand the source name to view all of the top-level folders within each dataset associated with the source. Continue to expand the folder structure and click a folder name to view all data items within that folder and its subfolders.

  • At any level with subfolders and files not within a folder, the files not within a folder in the original folder structure are grouped together and labeled multiple file outline icon files in this folder.

  • The folder selection in the folder tree pane is combined with any selections made in the filter pane. If you have made selections in the filter pane, the filter pane icon includes a red circle, filter icon with red circle to indicate selections have been made.

TIP: If you want to see data items for only a specific dataset associated with the workspace or workbook, switch to the filter pane view and select the desired dataset from the Datasets criterion. After you select the dataset, switch back to folder tree pane. You will see only the source name for the source associated with that dataset and only the folders within that dataset.

If you have selections in the filter pane that limit the content list to structured sources or datasets, or to unstructured sources or datasets other than file system, SharePoint, OneDrive, or Extended ECM, you will see the message "No results" in the folder tree pane.

  • Click Clear folder to clear the folder selection. The content list refreshes to shows all data for all available sources, restricted by selections made in the filter pane.
