Install Objective Connector

OpenText recommends that you install new connectors in an IDOL NiFi Ingest system. For information about how to deploy connectors in IDOL NiFi Ingest, refer to the NiFi Ingest Help. If you prefer to deploy the connector as a standalone ACI server, use the following procedure.

To install Objective Connector

  1. Ensure your system meets the requirements described in the IDOL Getting Started Guide, for example on Windows you might need to install the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables.
  2. Extract the contents of the connector zip package to your chosen installation directory.
  3. Open the connector configuration file (objectiverestconnector.cfg) and make the following changes:

    1. In the [License] section, specify the host name and port of your IDOL License Server. For information about how to do this, see Configure the License Server Host and Port.

    2. In the [Ingestion] section, specify the host name and port of your Connector Framework Server, or configure the connector to send data to another system such as IDOL NiFi Ingest. For information about configuring ingestion, see Ingestion.

    3. In the [FetchTasks] section, add a new fetch task so that the connector retrieves information from the repository. For information about configuring a fetch task, see Use the Connector.

  4. (Optional) You can install the connector as a service. For information about how to do this, see Install an IDOL Component as a Service on Windows or Install an IDOL Component as a Service on Linux.

  5. You can now start the connector.
