Permissions Manager Items in 3270 Printer Connection

These items are found in the Configure Connection Settings Dialog Box for 3270 Printer Sessionsand the ID Management Dialog Box.

Item User interface Description
AutoConnect Auto connect
Establishes a host connection as soon as the printer session is started.
ExitOnDisconnect Close session automatically
Closes the session when the connection is terminated.
Host Host name or IP address
Identifies the host to which you will connect.
IDMCriteria Set up ID Management
Opens the ID Management dialog box. This is available when the Connection option in Connection type is selected.
IDMPoolName Pool name
Specifies the name of a pool of resource IDs. This item is on the ID management dialog box that is displayed when you click Set up ID Management.
IDMServerURL Reflection ID Management Server URL
Specifies the URL of the ID Management server. This item is on the ID management dialog box that is displayed when you click Set up ID Management.
Port Port
Defines the host port or socket number that the session should use.
PrintHostLUName Host LU name
Specifies a host LU name. When you connect as a 3287 printer, some hosts require a host LU name.
PromptReconnect Prompt for reconnection
Prompts whether to attempt to reestablish the connection when the connection is terminated.
TN3270Extended Telnet Extended
Specifies to use the Telnet Extended type of transport.
TN3287ConnectType Connection Type
Specifies the type of connection (Connect or Associate). Select Connect when the LU name to which you are connecting is the name of a particular printer device. Select Associate to associate the printer session to a terminal session using an association string.
TNAssociation TN association
Displays a list of association strings you can configure using the Configure Advanced Connection Settings dialog box in a terminal session. This is available when the Associate option in Conection type is selected.
UseIDManagement Use ID Management
ID Manager configures and monitors a pool of resource IDs that a client can use to establish a host session, thereby eliminating the need for administrators to create configurations for every client. This is available if you are using a centralized management server with ID Manager installed and the Connection option in Connection type is selected.
