Getting there
From X Manager, X Manager for Domains, or the X Administrative Console

(Administrative Console only) Click the tab.

In the left pane, select an existing session definition or click
next to to create a new one. -
In the pane on the right, click the tab.
The options are:

The name for this session definition. This name identifies your session in the list. |
|
|
Select to run all clients in a single window, and have your display appear similar to the standard display of an X terminal. This is sometimes referred to as "single window" mode. This option is required for XDMCP connections. |
|
|
Select to run clients in separate windows like operating system applications. This is sometimes referred to as "multiple window" mode. |
|
|
Specify what action should happen when the last client is closed. For X Client sessions, this action occurs after the amount of time specified by . For XDMCP connections, this action occurs immediately when you log out. |
|
Reset the session. Resetting returns the server to the same state it had before clients used the session. |
|
Close the session. |
|
Close the session. If this is the last running session, also exit X Manager. |
|
Continue running the session without a reset. This is useful for applications that expect your environment to remain unchanged. |

|
Specify the number of seconds of inactivity that must pass before the session is reset or stopped. If a client connects during this interval, the or setting is ignored. This setting applies X Client definitions, not XDMCP connections. NOTE:This option does not apply if the session is running an XDMCP desktop. When you log off of the desktop, the occurs immediately (no timeout). |

Automatically start this session when X Manager starts. |
|
|
Disables sharing for X clients and XDMCP connections that use this session. |
|
|
Sets a maximum limit on the number of instances of this session that can be launched by a user. This does not limit the number of clients that can run using the same session instance. It does not affect how many instances of other session types can run. Note: In domain mode, all sessions for any given user are known to the domain, and the domain enforces the limit per user. A user cannot log in to multiple instances of X Manager for Domains and start the specified number of session instances on each X Manager for Domains. |
