Delete or Repair Metadata from a Catalog

If a catalog is corrupted, a warning message in the Status pane will alert the user. The message instructs the user to go to Tools > Delete/Repair Broken Metadata. This opens the Catalog Cleaner to view the corruption in more detail and resolve the problems.

Note: Before you proceed, it is recommended that you back up your current catalog.
  1. Click Tools > Delete/Repair Broken Metadata to open the Catalog Cleaner.
  2. Review the information presented about the corruption within the catalog. Click a row in the to view further information about the problem.
  3. Uncheck any cleaning tasks that you want to retain.
  4. At the bottom of the pane, click Clean Broken Metadata.
