To provide and manage the credentials for ESCWA, the Directory Servers, or for Regions

If the Enterprise Server security features are enabled, your ESCWA connection, the Directory Servers, and any regions might require credentials with sufficient permissions when you interact with them in Server Explorer. If credentials are required, the IDE displays the Enterprise Server Sign On dialog box.

The IDE prompts you to sign on to a region the first time you start it, or after the supplied credentials for it have been cleared. To sign on to ESCWA:

  1. In Server Explorer, expand Micro Focus Servers.
  2. In the Enterprise Server Sign On dialog box, check Use specific server credentials.
  3. Specify the username and password that you want to access ESCWA with, and click OK.
Note: These fields are prepopulated with the SYSAD account and the credentials created for it during the installation. If these have been updated since the installation, make sure you use the correct password, or another appropriate user account.

To sign on to a Directory Server in ESCWA:

  1. In Server Explorer, expand Micro Focus Servers, and click one of the Directory Servers - for example, Default.
  2. In the Enterprise Server Sign On dialog box, check Use specific server credentials.
  3. Specify the username and password that you want to access the Directory Server with, and click OK.
Note: These fields are prepopulated with the SYSAD account and the credentials created for it during the installation. The Directory Server might use the same credentials as ESCWA, or require other credentials.

To sign on to a region:

  1. Right-click on a region in Server Explorer, and click Start.
  2. In the Enterprise Server Sign On dialog box, specify any credentials and a group as required.
  3. Check Use specific server credentials and either use the credentials configured for ESCWA and the Directory Server, or specify other credentials as required.
  4. Click OK.

To clear the credentials supplied for signing on to ESCWA:

  1. In Server Explorer, right-click Micro Focus Servers.
  2. Click Clear ESCWA Credentials.

To clear the credentials supplied for a Micro Focus Directory Server:

  1. In Server Explorer, expand Micro Focus Servers.
  2. Right-click - e.g. Default, and then click Clear Credentials.

To view the user credentials that were used to connect to a region:

  1. Click on a region in Server Explorer.
  2. Check the Properties window in the IDE. By default, this window is in the bottom right corner of the IDE.
  3. Check the Credentials section as this shows the User Name that was used to sign on to the region.

If the supplied credentials are not valid, the description indicates that.

To clear the credentials provided for a region:

  1. Right-click on a region in Server Explorer.
  2. Click Clear Credentials.
