To start Visual COBOL as an administrator

Depending on the files you create or edit using Visual COBOL, you might need to start Visual COBOL as an administrator. To do this:

This topic applies to Windows environments only.

Windows 7 and Earlier

1. From your Windows desktop, click Start > All Programs > Micro Focus Visual COBOL .
2. Right-click Visual COBOL for Eclipse; then select Run as administrator from the context menu.
3. If prompted, click Yes.

Windows 8.1

1. From the Windows Start screen, right-click the Visual COBOL for Eclipse tile.
2. On the bottom of the page, click Run as administrator.
3. If prompted, click Yes.

Windows 10 and Later

1. From your Windows desktop, click Start > Micro Focus Visual COBOL.
2. Right-click Visual COBOL for Eclipse.
3. On the context menu, click More > Run as administrator.
