Overview

You manage your product licensing by using the Micro Focus License Administration tool.

On Windows, you can use both a GUI interface and a command-line version of the Micro Focus License Administration tool. On UNIX, only a command-line version is available.

When you install your Micro Focus product, the AutoPass Daemon and Sentinel RMS license server are also both installed to manage your license. Depending on how your site administers licenses, you can request licenses from a central license server.

Important: The SafeNet Sentinel licensing system that was available with previous releases of this product has been deprecated and is no longer available in release 10.0. This product also uses the Micro Focus AutoPass licensing technology which was introduced in release 8.0. Starting with release 10.0, AutoPass is the only licensing technology available in this product.

The SafeNet Sentinel licenses are no longer supported, and you need to use AutoPass licenses starting with release 10.0. Contact Micro Focus Customer Care to replace your existing SafeNet Sentinel with AutoPass licenses.

Network license server

If your site has multiple licenses and you want to use a network license server to manage them, install the Micro Focus License Administration tool that is supplied with your product. Individual workstations can then be configured to obtain a license from the license server machine.

Uninstalling a product

Uninstalling a Micro Focus product that uses the AutoPass Daemon or Sentinel RMS does not remove the license(s) that you have activated for that product, nor does it uninstall the daemon and the license server. We recommend that before you uninstall the Micro Focus product, you uninstall the licenses for it.
