Novell, Inc., a leader in eBusiness solutions and Net services software, today announced availability of Novell® Small Business Suite 6, the latest version of Novell's complete networking solutions suite for small businesses. In addition to providing top-quality, affordable software to network small businesses, the Novell Small Business Suite lets customers seamlessly integrate their local networks with the Internet, simply and securely, creating a unified network - one Net - that they can manage more easily and cost effectively. Novell Small Business Suite 6 provides core networking and storage capabilities through NetWare® 6, as well as full-fledged collaboration with GroupWise® 6, desktop management with ZENworks® for Desktops 3.2, and network security through BorderManager® Enterprise Edition 3.6. Partner products Tobit FaxWare*, Network Associates VirusScan* and NetShield*, and FatPipe* Internet Software provide additional collaboration, security and broadband features. Small businesses can become eBusinesses overnight with Novell Small Business Suite 6.

Novell Small Business Suite 6 leverages the strengths of the latest Novell technology to provide Net services to small businesses with up to 50 users. The suite includes NetWare 6 "access anywhere" features such as Novell iFolder, iPrint and NetWare WebAccess that allow file, print, directory, e-mail and other core network resources to be accessed and managed from any desktop, from any device, in any location, significantly reducing costs and management complexity. (See today's Novell announcement, "Novell NetWare 6 Brings Net Services to the User - No Strings Attached.") Novell Small Business Suite builds on the proven reliability and security of NetWare, which is critical for small businesses that can't afford dedicated information technology resources to keep the network healthy.

"Businesses of all sizes are finding that the need for immediate access to information in the Net economy is not limited to big corporations. The ability to respond rapidly is often even more critical for a small business, where a single lost customer hits the bottom line quickly," said Craig Miller, vice president and general manager of Novell's Net Management business unit. "The Novell Small Business Suite gives small businesses a simple, secure and extremely reliable network with e-mail, file synchronization and backup, Internet printing, and Web-browser access to files, all at an extremely affordable price. As small businesses make the move to the Net, they get a reliable, low-maintenance network and a variety of applications that provide them the same benefits enjoyed by many of the Fortune 500."

According to Gonzalo Burgos, chief operating officer of Plasticos Burgos, the largest plastics manufacturer in Chile, Novell Small Business Suite gave his company the stability and reliability it needed to replace its Windows NT network. "Our NetWare server never goes down, and this system is more reliable and has great integrity. We've realized an additional $20,000 to $30,000 in management and productivity savings after changing software, not to mention eliminating the up to $100,000 we lost each time our former system would crash or data became corrupted. With the Novell Small Business Suite, we have confidence to extend our internal network to communicate with customers over the Internet. Now business is up, losses are down."

"The reliability and features of the Novell Small Business Suite will ensure that small businesses and their chosen solution providers are not losing time and money due to network downtime," said Marc Leeka, president of Computer Physicians, a Novell solution provider partner in Glendale, Calif. "That means we can focus on partnering with our customers to enhance the profitability of their small businesses."
