Novell Wins Two LinuxUser & Developer Awards

23 April 2004

Novell was presented two 2004 LinuxUser & Developer Awards this week, which recognize excellence in the Linux industry. SUSE LINUX was named Best Linux Distribution and Ximian Evolution was named Best Desktop Application.

The awards were sponsored by UK-based LinuxUser & Developer magazine in association with OpenForum Europe, an independent body set up to accelerate, broaden and strengthen the use of open source software within the business environment.

"The aim of the awards is to recognize the very best in product and service solutions, as well as corporate and personal contributions, in the Linux industry," said Maggie Meer, director of Horsepower Media and publisher of LinuxUser & Developer magazine. "This year we have witnessed the highest number of entries to date, making the judges' job extremely difficult but also indicating the increasing popularity of Linux within mainstream IT."
