Chris Stone, Novell's vice chairman, office of the CEO, will deliver the opening keynote of the inaugural Open Source Business Conference (OSBC 2004), taking place March 16-17 in San Francisco. Stone will address the business imperatives of open source, the need for co-existence of open and proprietary solutions, and how open source is delivering new flexibility to enterprise customers.
The two-day conference examines how open source software is changing markets around the world. It explores the legal, investment, vendor and customer risks and rewards of open source software. Additional keynoters include, among others, Clayton Christensen, author of The Innovator's Dilemma and The Innovator's Solution, Raymond Lane, general partner at Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers, and Lawrence Lessing, Professor of Law and John A. Wilson Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Stanford Law School.
