Latest version imports existing hosts and virtual machines to the cloud while leveraging current infrastructure and optimizing resource allocation
Novell today announced significant advancements to the industry’s most comprehensive cloud management solution. Engineered for the heterogeneous reality of most IT environments, Novell® Cloud Manager gives users the freedom and flexibility to create and manage private clouds that support all leading hypervisors, operating systems and hardware platforms. The latest version of Novell Cloud Manager delivers an enhanced ability to import existing physical and virtual infrastructure into the cloud, thus accelerating the transition to cloud computing. Additionally, this new version provides a new iPhone client for mobile access and makes it even easier to optimize the performance of applications in the cloud through streamlined resource configuration.
"Enterprise organizations are increasingly making virtualization and cloud computing a priority; however, they need to be able to integrate with and leverage their existing assets," said Jim Ebzery, senior vice president and general manager of Security, Management and Operating Platforms at Novell. "Novell Cloud Manager is the only cloud management solution that allows customers to absorb their existing virtual hosts, along with existing virtual machine guests into their private clouds, so they can be managed from a single product just like newly provisioned workloads."
Novell Cloud Manager, a WorkloadIQ™ product, is the only cloud management product to offer a single, comprehensive console that all stakeholders – business unit leaders, application teams and IT management – can use to request, approve, manage and report on IT services across the entire infrastructure. It also provisions workloads on demand, with the ability to incorporate organizational approvals to ensure security and compliance. With Novell Cloud Manager, customers can leverage the flexibility and cost savings of cloud computing, without the security and compliance risks inherent in public clouds.
In addition to recently announced features including support for the industry’s leading hypervisors and operating systems, automated on-demand workload provisioning and integration with best-in-class business service management products, Novell Cloud Manager now offers:
