Industry's First Business Service Management Solution to Deliver CMS and Cloud Services Management
Novell today announced the immediate availability of Novell Operations Center 5.0, the first Business Service Management (BSM) solution to deliver comprehensive management of public and private cloud services, as well as the first Configuration Management System (CMS) that automatically synchronizes with external data sources, helping customers to better manage highly complex environments and federated CMDBs. These extensive capabilities present a real-time, comprehensive view of business service health and performance across physical, virtual and cloud environments.
"When Novell entered the BSM space three years ago, the company invested in a set of technologies that led the market in defining what Business Service Management might mean in terms of linking business outcomes to IT service performance through a truly assimilative capability for modeling and analysis across multiple brand investments. Since that time, Novell has enriched and strengthened its BSM portfolio bringing its customers a more complete understanding of their IT infrastructure performance," said Dennis Drogseth, vice president at Enterprise Management Associates. "With Novell Operations Center 5.0, Novell is extending its BSM integration to support cloud and active configuration (release) management requirements with higher levels of automation, visibility and control."
Novell Operations Center 5.0 now enables customers with the following capabilities:
"To succeed in today's competitive market, enterprises need flexibility and control over their heterogeneous IT environments to not only keep pace, but to gain an edge. Without a true end-to-end view of the services their IT environments are deploying, managing the systems and applications that support business objectives is near impossible," noted Michele Hudnall, solutions marketing manager at Novell. "Novell Operations Center brings together the available information about infrastructure state and service performance in an intuitive, business-centric presentation. The release of Novell Operations Center 5.0 delivers on the promise of Novell's Workload IQ strategy by giving customers the information they need to optimize their technology investments, and in turn, their business contributions."
Novell Operations Center 5.0 fully integrates with Novell Cloud Manager, Novell ZENworks®, Novell Sentinel, PlateSpin® Recon, and NetIQ® AppManager®, giving customers seamless access to a broad array of technologies in the Novell and NetIQ portfolios.
