HPE Adaptive Backup and Recovery Suite Leverages Operational Analytics to Provide Information Insight for Improved Efficiencies and Risk Mitigation
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) today introduced the Micro Focus Adaptive Backup and Recovery Suite, an integrated suite that uses operational and file analytics to automate and streamline data protection. Delivering on its vision to bring information insight into the end-to-end backup and recovery process, the suite combines Storage Optimizer, Data Protector and Backup Navigator with modern information optimization, analytics, and protection tools to efficiently safeguard and backup enterprise data across disparate repositories and locations.
Traditional data protection and management tools present significant challenges to IT departments due to their inability to handle growing volumes of data, new waves of diverse applications, and new data protection rules such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). According to International Data Corporation (IDC), "keeping data safe, available and well managed is of paramount importance for successful digital transformation."1 IDC continues, "enterprises must rethink their data protection strategies and update them with solutions fit to overcome new age data complexities."2
"Organizations are under immense pressure to manage and protect growing volumes of data that is outpacing their IT budgets," said David Jones, senior vice president and general manager, Information Management & Governance, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. "With the Micro Focus Adaptive Backup and Recovery Suite, IT departments can leverage analytics to optimize data management and protect what matters most while driving efficiency, system reliability and compliance across their environments."
Providing deep insights into enterprise information with intelligent, highly adaptive solutions powered by analytics is required to address modern data management challenges. With a robust analytical foundation, the recent enhancements to Data Protector, Backup Navigator and Storage Optimizer have uniquely tailored HPE’s capabilities to address dynamic market conditions with increased operational efficiency and streamlined management regardless of data location. Individually, the solutions complement one another. In combination, the three solutions come together into one suite to augment insights into enterprise data while delivering time and cost savings, and significantly mitigating risk.
"The increasing amount of data, combined with antiquated information management systems, is holding back organizations from developing new products and services," said Nick Sundby, consulting director, IDC European Storage Group. "A software suite like Micro Focus Adaptive Backup and Recovery, which helps organizations from the start to the end of their data protection journey — that analyzes, then protects and optimizes the backup processes and infrastructure in a secure, automated way — will set the benchmark for modern, self-optimizing backup and recovery solutions."
The Micro Focus Adaptive Backup and Recovery Suite prioritizes critical workloads, predicts resource conflicts and expedites recommended remediation steps to drive efficiency, reliability and cost savings into the backup process. Through the combination of three market-proven offerings including HPE Storage Optimizer, HPE Data Protector and HPE Backup Navigator, Micro Focus Adaptive Backup and Recovery Suite enables organizations to:
“It is imperative that our patients’ health records are available to the medical staff at all times, as well as protected in the event of a disaster,” said James Matson, IT Coordinator, UP Health System Portage. “With HPE Data Protector, we have a trusted data protection solution in place, and are now expanding our use of the suite with the deployment of HPE Backup Navigator which will help us with the reporting and monitoring of our backup environment while providing us with insight so that we can optimize and run it more efficiently.”
