Novell, Inc. today announced immediate availability of ZENworks for Servers, a Net services software product that simplifies and centralizes multiple-server management across networks. ZENworks for Servers gives administrators significant advantages, including the ability to reduce network service disruptions and automate the management of network devices. A special introductory price of $40 per user will be offered to customers purchasing the product before April 29, 2000. Additionally, an ongoing per-server licensing option will be available for $5,000 per server.
Central to the ZENworks for Servers release is the ability for administrators to set policies to automatically distribute content (such as server application updates) across the network, manage how and when those policies are enforced, and automate server management from a central console. This frees IT staff from repetitive management tasks and allows them to focus on the larger challenge of moving their businesses to the Net. Additional advantages fall into two key areas: simplified and secured network management, and system manageability and security. "ZENworks for Servers is a critical component of Novell's plan to provide the richest Net services software across all types of networks," said Dave Shirk, Novell's senior vice president of product management. "With ZENworks for Desktops, ZENworks for Networks, and now ZENworks for Servers, customers get an end-to-end management solution. The ZENworks products simplify and secure the task of managing the network, and allow organizations to speed their transformation to e-business." Availability and Pricing Licenses for ZENworks for Servers are available today at the promotional price of $40 USD per user through the Novell Customer Connections licensing programs. Customers may purchase licenses for ZENworks for Servers starting at $75 per user after April 29, 2000. A per server licensing option is also available at $5,000 per server through Novell Customer Connections Licensing Programs. The server-based license option allows customers to license ZENworks for Servers per server, independent of the number of users who access its services, programs or applications. ManageWise customers with upgrade protection or maintenance through Novell Customer Connections Licensing Programs will receive ZENworks for Servers at no charge.
