16 July 2002

Novell, Inc., the leading provider of Net business solutions, today announced that readers of InfoWorld magazine have chosen two Novell® products as the best in their categories, winners of InfoWorld Readers' Choice Awards 2002. Novell NetWare® 6 was named Best Operating System and Novell GroupWise® 6 was chosen Best Collaboration Product by those who actually purchase and use technology to run their businesses. More than 5,200 InfoWorld readers voted in this year's Readers' Choice Awards after the InfoWorld senior editorial team selected finalists from among the top products and services released during the past 12 months.

In its awards cover story, InfoWorld wrote, "Because you, as InfoWorld readers, are technically astute and have a sound sense of what's good for business, your choices lend valuable insight into enterprise trends." Readers and editors of other publications have also honored Novell solutions this past year as best in the market, including PC Magazine, Network World, Network Magazine and Network Computing, in addition to "best" awards from trade shows COMDEX and NetWorld®+Interop.

"Novell is still the one company customers look to for superior solutions that give them a competitive advantage," said Carl Ledbetter, senior vice president of engineering/research and development for Novell. "Novell solutions continue to receive accolades from the media, customers and industry analysts as tops in the market.
