Windows

The latest version of Client for Open Enterprise Server provides connectivity to NetWare and Open Enterprise Server servers for Windows desktops as well as Windows servers. With the client, you can browse through authorized directories and transfer files, plus use advanced services directly from a Windows workstation or Windows Server system.

Once installed, the Client for OES lets users enjoy the full range of services, including:

  • Authentication via NetIQ eDirectory™
  • Network browsing and service resolution
  • Secure and reliable file system access

All services are delivered through industry-standard protocols. The Client for OES also supports the traditional NCP protocol.

The latest version of the client supports the current mainstream Windows desktop and Windows Server versions. Older versions of the OES Windows Client supporting older Windows platforms are also available, but receive no support.

Client for OES: Windows XP/2003

The Client for Windows XP/2003 enable you to access NetWare and OES services from Windows XP workstations or Windows Server 2003 servers. The Client for Windows XP/2003 is not currently supported.

Mac

It's easy for Macs to access the file and networking services provided for Open Enterprise Server. Entitlement to Kanaka for Mac is included. Entitlement is dependent on current maintenance status.

Linux

The Client for Linux provides NetWare and Open Enterprise Server connectivity to SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop or SUSE Linux Desktop workstations by translating login script commands to their Linux counterparts. Once it is installed on workstations, users can enjoy the full range of NetWare and Open Enterprise Server services.
