Archiving G Suite for Education

• Only archives Gmail email: Your school or district needs to archive email, as well as the social media and mobile communication data generated by your users.
• Limited export options: Gmail messages can only be exported to MBOX format, and not in the preferred PST or PDF formats.
• No email restore: Archived email messages in Vault can only be restored using a third-party application at additional cost.
• Poor eDiscovery: You must purchase a different third-party tool that can redact or strike out confidential email data in Vault.
• Automatic deletion: If a user is deleted in Google Apps, all associated user data is deleted, including their Vault archive.
• No control over data storage: Google will not identify the exact location of your data, or who has access to your data.
• Complex alias archiving: Vault retention rules do not automatically include email aliases.
