With organizations storing petabytes of data, it becomes harder and harder to determine which files are relevant, which can be deleted, which need to be archived, and which contain sensitive and personal information. Fortunately, there is Micro Focus File Reporter that can identify all of these.
When File Reporter is combined with File Dynamics, Data Owners have the means of importing reports and then remediating problems. For example, File Reporter can generate a report specifying the names and locations of all files that contain personal information such as Social Security or credit card numbers. A Data Owner using the File Dynamics Data Owner Client can then import this file and determine what to do with these files. Options include the ability to move the files to a more secure location, delete the files, or change the ownership of the folder where the files are stored.
