Novell, Inc., a leader in eBusiness solutions and Net services software, and Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), one of the world's leading consulting and IT services firms, today announced new licensing agreements to facilitate the adoption of Novell® software into CSC and its customers' data processing environments. These agreements come after extensive work with Novell's Developer Labs and further expand the alliance announced last year that utilizes Novell eDirectory™ as the foundation for security and authentication within CSC's Managed Web Service. CSC will now integrate Novell Portal Services, iChain®, and OnDemand Services™ to further secure and manage this service.

Terms of the non-exclusive agreements enable CSC's Business Units to offer the full range of Novell technologies to their customers, improving their ability to manage their clients' networks more efficiently. Customers will benefit through the combined expertise of CSC's business solutions and Novell's proven, secure and reliable directory technologies. By outsourcing to CSC, customers are able to focus on core competencies and leverage CSC's strong knowledge base so vital to success in the Net economy. Through CSC's Managed Web Service customers will speed time-to-market and reduce risks associated with rapid development and deployment of technology.

"CSC chose Novell's Net services software, including eDirectory, because it is a secure and reliable offering that addresses the global operational and eBusiness needs of our customers," said Marie Baker, CSC's director of Managed Web Services strategy. "Together, we are efficiently delivering technical and eBusiness services that help our customers move their businesses on line while leveraging the operational scalability and reliability for which eDirectory and other Novell products are well known."

Success in Germany
As Germany's largest general leasing company, Deutsche Leasing knows the value of CSC/Novell solutions. They have outsourced their entire information technology requirements to CSC, who manages the company's infrastructure, including Novell NetWare®, eDirectory, Novell Cluster Services™, and ConsoleOne®. As a result the customer is able to focus completely on their client- and service-oriented strategy. "With rapidly changing IT we have been pleased with the implementation of Novell Net services software combined with the dynamic expertise of CSC," said Siegbert Schafer, Deutsche Leasing contract manager. "Our decision has resulted in maximum IT performance and availability with minimum investment. In fact, zero downtime has become the norm for our IT infrastructure."

"CSC shares Novell's one Net vision and is making it a reality for our joint customers," stated Jo McCausland, director of CSI alliances at Novell. "CSC is helping simplify complex eBusiness solutions for organizations working to emerge as industry leaders in the Net economy by outsourcing vital IT systems."
