Novell Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant for Web Access Management
Novell today announced it has been positioned in the leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s, "Magic Quadrant for Web Access Management, 2H07" by Ray Wagner and Earl Perkins, Oct. 29, 2007. Novell Access Manager™, the company's Web access management solution, protects both Web and enterprise applications and helps organizations enhance user productivity, streamline administration, increase security and ensure compliance.
In August, Gartner also positioned Novell® in the leaders quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s, "Magic Quadrant for User Provisioning, 2H07" by Earl Perkins and Roberta J. Witty, Aug. 23, 2007, and the "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Single Sign-On, 2007" by Gregg Kreizman, Aug. 30, 2007. Novell Access Manager is integrated with the company's user provisioning solution Novell Identity Manager and its single sign-on solution Novell SecureLogin. This combination of powerful identity and Security products provides customers with a robust solution for supporting governance, risk management and compliance initiatives.
According to Gartner, "We saw significant interest in IAM infrastructures and projects in 2006, resulting in large part from regulatory compliance issues, and this interest has continued into 2007, spurring strong growth in several product areas. The markets for WAM products and larger IAM suites have all experienced healthy growth, as have the markets for user provisioning."1
Designed to help customers enable access in the extended enterprise, Novell Access Manager provides Web single sign-on and other advanced capabilities, including standards-based identity federation, multi-factor authentication, data encryption and an SSL VPN for local and remote users. Novell Access Manager also includes native support for a broad range of platforms and directory services to provide a single, centralized secure access management solution for the enterprise.
"We believe this recognition from Gartner demonstrates that Novell is helping customers effectively manage access across their environment," said Jim Ebzery, senior vice president and general manager for Identity and Security at Novell. "Novell Access Manager provides companies with seamless remote access for employees and broad federation capabilities to securely share information with partners, thus simplifying access and improving productivity."
