Subscription pricing model enables Stefanini to meet customers' mainframe business requirements
Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO.L), a leading provider of enterprise application modernization, testing and management solutions, today announced a global licensing agreement to strengthen Stefanini's mainframe modernization and support services. The agreement enables the international systems integrator's customers to benefit from Micro Focus' Enterprise Developer for zEnterprise and Enterprise Test Server products. Micro Focus and Stefanini have agreed a subscription model for product availability to an initial 300 developers at the outset, with an option to increase this number going forward.
Commenting on the Stefanini agreement, Kevin Brearley, director of product management at Micro Focus highlighted, "Almost half of testing and development projects are outsourced, with CIOs predicting a 14.5% increase in outsourced projects in the next two years. This predicted increase in the levels of outsourced application development will require effective technology solutions from systems integrators. I am delighted that our global licensing agreement with Stefanini will benefit its customers thanks to our dedicated mainframe technology tooling. With early and continual visibility and tracking, these projects can work much more effectively."
Stefanini selected Micro Focus' enterprise product set in its goal to use best-in-class technology to deliver mainframe consulting services. Faster application service delivery is achieved through Micro Focus technology that transforms mainframe application development, testing and workload optimisation. Traditional mainframe analysis, development, testing and workload deployment processes are accelerated to enhance all elements of the zEnterprise application delivery journey.
"Mainframe applications have provided unrivalled value to organizations for decades and continually enhancing these systems is an important part of their IT strategy," said Brearley. "Stefanini should be praised for the high standards it sets itself in working closely with customers to identify and overcome their mainframe business challenges."
"Micro Focus has experienced significant interest from the system integrator sector over recent months and I am delighted that we have agreed an innovative subscription model that enables Stefanini to be the first to benefit from our Enterprise product stack in order to resolve the complexities of their customers' application environments," Brearley continued.
Independent research survey undertaken by Vanson Bourne in August 2013, covers 590 IT decision makers in nine countries including UK (100), France (100), Germany (100), USA (100), Brazil (100), Australia (35), New Zealand (15), Hong Kong (15) and Singapore (25).
