Integrated access to NDS eDirectory and Corporate Edition offers organizations significant new advantages, including the ability to simplify and secure management of Linux users and groups across the Net, strengthening Linux as a platform for e-business. Additionally, eDirectory for Linux enables customers to seamlessly integrate and manage their cross-platform networks.
Leading industry Linux vendors such as Bowstreet, Caldera Systems, Evegreen Internet, Red Hat, Sendmail and TurboLinux also announced support for Novell's Linux strategy, further demonstrating the growing demand for a directory-based e-commerce and user management solution for the Linux platform. According to recent Evans Marketing research reports, Linux deployments increased by as much as 95 percent in the last six months of 1999, thereby increasing the need for management and accessibility on the platform.

Licenses for NDS eDirectory are available today for $2 USD per user. Licenses for NDS Corporate Edition are also available today for $26 USD per user. For ISVs and developers, Novell is offering a free 100-user license copy of eDirectory aimed to foster development of directory-enabled applications and services. Customers who are currently using a competing LDAP directory can get matching user licenses for NDS eDirectory at no charge, and pay only for the maintenance fees (for upgrade protection).
