Continuing its strong forward momentum in engaging with the partner community, Novell today said it would bring its software developer and hardware partners into its PartnerNet® program, providing new resources for independent software and hardware vendors and helping them leverage Novell's global reach more effectively. The program benefits commercial developers whose products can be integrated with Novell's industry-leading technologies as well as those who want to embed or bundle Novell technologies into their products.
The move marks another key step in Novell's renewed focus on developers, following April's creation of Novell® Forge, a resource for open source development tapping Novell technologies, and the August acquisition of Ximian, a Linux innovator and leader in several leading open source development projects. Independent software and hardware vendors (ISV/IHVs) now join Novell's integrator, channel and training partners under the PartnerNet umbrella, creating an increasingly large and dynamic partner ecosystem around Novell solutions.
One of the first technology companies to build an extensive channel program, Novell has long understood the value of partners in driving its solutions into the markets. Novell's PartnerNet program, which initially covered value-added resellers and solutions providers, has expanded over the last several years to encompass Novell's training partners, as well as top strategic corporate allies like Dell, HP, SAP, Bearing Point, Deloitte & Touche, and more. Today, Novell adds an additional piece to the PartnerNet puzzle by bringing ISV/IHVs into the program, creating a single framework for partners to interact with Novell and an extensive partner community that will allow synergies between Novell's partner groups to be tapped more effectively in partner-to-partner business relationships.

While Novell has long had relationships with ISVs and IHVs, bringing this group formally into the PartnerNet program brings a number of benefits. Members can tap Novell's large global network of both customers and partners more effectively. They enjoy the freedom of choice of Novell's cross-platform approach, giving them the flexibility to build on and for NetWare®, Linux or mixed environments. In addition, Novell offers an extensive range of integration support and training to ISV/IHVs via a PartnerNet link with Novell's long-running and successful DeveloperNet® program.
