New ITOM Platform Tackles Challenges of Hybrid IT
Micro Focus (LSE:MCRO; NYSE:MFGP) today announced the Micro Focus IT Operations Management (ITOM) Platform, the industry’s first containerized microservices platform that gives customers cross-domain insight across IT operations functions and technology silos. By leveraging the Micro Focus Container Deployment Foundation, a new catalog of microservices, big data analytics and machine learning, the Micro Focus ITOM Platform helps customers gain greater insights, control and accelerated service delivery in Hybrid IT environments.
“Enterprises have the ongoing challenge of managing the hybrid IT environments they have today, while building new services for the future,” said Tom Goguen, senior vice president and general manager, IT Operations Management, Micro Focus. “To address this challenge, we now offer the Micro Focus ITOM Platform, allowing customers to benefit from technology advancements such as the microservices we are delivering through our Container Deployment Foundation, along with operational best practices, to truly implement a modern IT Operations foundation that can scale and adapt to the next generation of technologies.”
Eras of technology adoption spanning on-premise, cloud, mobile technologies and more have led organizations to rethink their IT management and delivery models. They require solutions that can unleash more finely tuned services, reduce the IT complexity they now manage, and position them for additional technological innovations.
“The potential value of a simplified deployment model, more frequent updates, and improved scalability offered through containerized architecture at Micro Focus has been clear to us for some time,” said Luke Bradley, senior manager of engineering, Vodafone. “It’s exciting to see Micro Focus move to the next level of this architecture with its ITOM Platform. Being able to easily add and integrate microservices across our domain will simplify day to day operations for our team, and getting cross-domain insights will bring an increased level of intelligence to our operations over what we have today.”
The Micro Focus ITOM Platform tackles the challenges organizations face as a result of ongoing IT operation deployments by offering a modern platform that scales across public, private, or hybrid environments as opposed to traditional platforms with hardline commitments to either SaaS or on-premise stacks.
Features include:
“The enhanced container-based Micro Focus ITOM platform is a true architecture designed for compelling levels of integration and customization, with distinctive strengths in deployment, scalability, and versatility,” said Dennis Drogseth, vice president, Enterprise Management Associates. “Through this platform, Micro Focus is combining breadth of function with ease of deployment and administration, with special appeal to IT organizations seeking a more holistic, more efficient, and more cross-silo way of working.”
