Novell, Inc., the leading provider of Net services software, is teaming up with the U.S. Speedskating Team to run in the Race for the Cure, an annual event sponsored by the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to raise funds for the battle against breast cancer. The 70 member combined team, composed of employees from Novell® and members of the U.S. Speedskating team, will participate in the 5K Race for the Cure on Saturday, May 12, in Salt Lake City.

"Breast cancer can be beat, but we need to increase awareness about the disease and devote resources to its cure," said Brenda Rodriquez, a breast cancer survivor who is Director for Human Resources at Novell and honorary chair for the Novell team. "The Novell and U.S. Speedskating team joining together for this event is a great example of this, and of how much we can all accomplish if we work together."
The U.S. Speedskating team's home ice is the Utah Olympic Oval, and many of the athletes live and train in the Salt Lake Area. The skaters' participation in the Salt Lake Race for the Cure supports their effort to perform 2002 hours of community service for the state of Utah.
