More Security and Flexibility for GroupWise Users

GWAVA Delivers GroupWise Web Access Users more Security and Flexibility

24 November 2008

GWAVA, Novell’s largest technology partner for GroupWise, announced today the latest version of WASP 2, the leading spam and anti-virus solution for GroupWise WebAccess.

This release comes at a time when an increasing number of GroupWise users are enjoying the flexibility of the internet to access their important messaging information. However, with the flexibility come challenges to filter unwanted content and keep viruses from invading your organization.

WASP 2, similar to the award-winning GWAVA 4, allows administrators to dial up or down the content filtering for email text and attachments, allowing the right content to be transported to individual mailboxes. WASP 2 sits on the GroupWise server, constantly scanning for malware and spam. Once detected, WASP 2 quarantines the offender until it can be scrubbed clean or is deleted. Unlike previous versions of WASP, WASP 2 is cross-platform, running natively on NetWare and Linux and in remote scanning mode for Windows. Native Windows support is planned in conjunction with upgrades to GWAVA 4 (spam and anti-virus for the GroupWise client). WASP 2 installs easily and does not require any additional hardware.

“Organizations that rely heavily on GroupWise Web Access will appreciate the redesigned interface and new user notification system,” said Taylor Cochrane Director of Product Development at GWAVA. “The interface is very similar to Reload and Retain and offers all the flexibility of GWAVA 4 in regard to content filtering of attachments, and email text. The notification system is very descriptive, so users understand exactly what is happening during the scanning and quarantine process.”GWAVA WASP 2 is available now for purchase and download.
