Novell, Inc., a leader in eBusiness solutions and Net services software, today announced public availability of the Novell® NetWare® 6 beta, continuing its tradition of delivering the industry's most reliable, secure and real-world-tested networking services. As the premier platform for delivering Net services, NetWare 6 allows file, print, directory, e-mail and other core network resources to be accessed across all types of networks, storage systems and client desktops. With NetWare's WebAccess capabilities, network access and management is now possible from any desktop, from any device, in any location, significantly reducing costs and management complexity. In addition, NetWare 6 allows Windows*, Macintosh*, UNIX*, Linux* and Web-based client workstations to connect and store files and data on centrally managed servers, as well as on emerging storage area network (SAN) solutions from leading storage vendors.

"NetWare 6 delivers one Net services today," said Michael Simpson, vice president of Novell's platform solutions team. "NetWare 6 users can now access network services and their core information from any location, any desktop, at any time. Users are free to choose how they access their data, whether through a native client, the traditional NetWare client or through a Web browser. With NetWare 6, we are delivering on Novell's goal to truly help our customers build a one Net environment, significantly reducing their costs and improving the reliability of their networks."

NetWare 6 includes innovative Net services like Novell iFolder "access anywhere" information management software. With Novell iFolder, users can securely access and synchronize their files, anywhere in the world, across all types of networks and on any Internet-enabled machine. In addition, Novell iPrint makes Internet printing a reality by allowing users to find the right printer, automatically receive the right printer driver if they don't have it already, and securely send the print job to that printer with the click of a mouse. Also included are Novell NDS® eDirectory, multiprocessor enablement (up to 32 processors) and server clustering for high availability.
