Remediating the location of personal or sensitive files is a powerful example of integration between File Reporter and File Dynamics. Using File Reporter, you can for example, generate a report identifying the names and locations of all files containing credit card numbers. That file can be imported into the File Dynamics Data Owner Client where a Data Owner can then remediate the location of these files from a less secure, to a more secure location on the network.
Organizations that use Micro Focus Storage Manager or File Dynamics to manage their user and collaborative storage, can utilize File Reporter to report on the storage according to the target paths of the policies, rather than through an extensive list of specific file paths.
