Library Types Page

Library types only need to be defined for Librarian and Panvalet libraries. The default library type is Standard, which is for PDS and PDSE data sets. You must specify data set name patterns to indicate which data sets are Librarian or Panvalet.

Note

Library types can also be configured using the ChangeMan ZDD Wizard application, which allows you to configure multiple servers in a single step.

The default library type (for pattern **) is Standard, which means PDS or PDSE data sets. To associate library types with specific data set name patterns for Librarian or Panvalet libraries, fill in the fields as follows:

Field Description
Data set name pattern Type a data set name pattern. For example: **.PAN would apply to all data sets that end with PAN. The following data sets would be affected:
TSOID.PAN and TSOID.TEST.PAN
*.PAN would apply to data sets that have only two qualifiers and the second one is PAN.
TSOID.PAN would be affected.
TSOID.TEST.PAN would not be affected.
Library Select a library type from the drop-down menu.
Import Click to retrieve library type associations from a file.
Export Click to save library type associations to a file.

Click to add the association.

To delete a library type for a pattern, select the pattern name in the list and click .

The library type for the ** pattern cannot be deleted.

To change properties for a pattern, use one of the following methods:

  • Delete it and add the new one.

  • Repeat the add process and the old entry will be overlaid.

The library type for the ** pattern cannot be deleted.

Library types are applied to data set name patterns in a hierarchical manner, from top to bottom. To change the order, use the buttons to reposition the entries.
